Bucket anyway! Armed raiders flee Drogheda KFC empty handed...it was closed!

Gardaí in Laytown are investigating an attempted armed robbery which occurred last night at the KFC Premises, Drogheda Retail Park.
At approximately 10.05pm two men wearing balaclavas and high-viz jackets tried to enter the premises. One of the males was carrying a firearm.

The doors of the premises were locked at the time and the men failed to gain entry. They fled on foot and got into a silver Ford Focus partial registration, 03-OY, and drove off at high speed with the headlights turned off.

This vehicle was found a few minutes later by Gardaí parked up in Lagavooreen Manor. Two high-viz jackets matching the description of those worn by the suspects were located alongside a ditch at Rosevale Estate, Drogheda.
