: Navan locals taking part in the Healthy Town Tuesday evening walks at Blackwater Park hosted by Lucy Dillon, Meath Local Sports Partnership.

It's all go in Healthy Town Navan

Pfizer Irish Times Healthy Town 2016 is well underway with a host of health and wellbeing related activities and events taking place to help everyone in Navan boost their health and wellbeing. Those hoping to manage stress or introduce some balance to busy lives can look forward to expert advice by Dr Harry Barry, who will give a talk on ‘Mindfulness’ on Wednesday 5th October in the Ardboyne Hotel. Those interested in attending the event should register in advance by emailing healthytownnavan@edelman.com.

For those who wish to increase their level of physical activity, weekly Healthy Town Walks continue on Tuesday evenings at 6.45pm, at Blackwater Park led by Meath Local Sports Partnership trainer Lucy Dillon. Healthy Town Walks also take place every Thursday morning at Claremont Stadium at 10.30am.

Navan Adventure Sports will host a free, active family event at Navan racecourse on Saturday 1st October. Suitable for families with children aged 7 years and older, the event will last for one hour and will offer families free use of all adventure sports available including Foot Golf, the Golf Driving Range, the Assault Course, plus many more. The following day, Sunday 2nd October, the Meath Bulldogs American Football will host a free ‘Rookie Days’ from 12-2pm in Blackwater Park, Navan. The Pfizer Irish Times Healthy Town programme involves a series of free events, seminars and health checks in the town over an eight-week period during September and October.

The people of Navan are encouraged to take up the ‘5 Step Challenge’ and to share updates on social media using the hashtag #MyHealthyTown. The challenge involves identifying an improvement that an individual would like to make to their health and wellbeing, consulting the Healthy Town Map of Navan to see what health and wellness events are going on in their area and sharing progress on Facebook.
