Status orange wind warning for county

A Status Orange wind warning is in effect today for parts of Leinster, including Meath, with strong winds and heavy rainfall expected.

Met Eireann says there will be high winds in Dublin, Louth, Wexford, Wicklow and Meath from now until 8pm this evening. It will become very windy with southerly winds reaching mean speeds of 50 to 70km/h and gusting to speeds of 100 to 115 km/h, say forecasters. Winds will be strongest in exposed coastal areas.

Rain will become widespread during the day, turning heavy at times, especially later in the afternoon and early evening. It will be cool with maximum temperatures of just 12 to 14 Degrees Celcius.
