Extension of smoking ban at health centres

Four more health centres in Meath will become tobacco-free campuses from 10th November next.
The new regulations will apply to the health centres in Enfield, Drumconrath, Nobber and Slane.
From 10th November, smoking and the use of electronic cigarettes, or e-cigs, will not be permitted anywhere on the grounds, at the entrances, doorways and walkways, or in car parks that belong to these centres.
This new policy will apply to all staff, clients, contractors and anyone who attends or visits these centres, according to the HSE.
Paula Campbell, health promotion officer with the HSE, said: “The HSE, as the leading provider of healthcare, has committed to making all of its healthcare facilities 'tobacco-free’ by the end of 2015.
