Two more for Cromwell raiders at Downpatrick

Gavin Cromwell's run of success continued today with a double at Downpatrick to bring his tally of winners to five since last Saturday's win at Longchamp and two at Cork on Wednesday.

The wins cover flat, hurdle and a chase with the jumping to the fore today.

Ardcath jockey Ger Fox was on board the opening winner for Cromwell when A Place Apart won the maiden hurdle for owner Turlough Blessing who is a nephew of Colm O'Rourke.

Backed from 10/1 this morning to 9/2 there was plenty of support for the four-year-old which won from the Noel Meade-trained 6/4 favourite Free Ranger.

Cromwell made it two when Moonball landed the beginners chase with Paul Townend on board. The winner could run again in a similar race at Tramore on Thursday next.

Stamullen handler Tom McCourt was also on the mark to keep the Meath flag flying when Muroor won a handicap hurdle while there was some consolation also for Noel Meade when he took a four-runner maiden hurdle with He's No Molly.

The Qatar Racing-owned favourite Solindian (Gordon Elliott) departed at the fourth last and He's No Molly took it up before two out to win by a substantial 23 lengths from the Willie Mullins trained Koroleva.
