Ladies to get under way in Pairc Tailteann

Sunday is a historic day for Meath Ladies as they take on Offaly in the second round of NFL Div 3 at Pairc Tailteann, 12pm as the curtainraiser to Meath's NFL Div 2 clash with Armagh.

After the disappointment of having their opening round game against Sligo called off just as they were about to depart on Saturday, Meath will have to refocus and open their bid for promotion with a victory over Offaly.
Meath will be expected to beat Offaly, but they would be foolish to take the Faithful girls for granted as they almost caused a shock in round seven last year when losing by just 3-9 to 4-9.
On that occasion Meath were already assured of a place in the semi-finals and used the game to give their panel players game time, but they will not be taking such chances this week.
“Offaly are an excellent side, with some of the best young players in the province coming through.
“We are expecting a very tough game against them on Sunday, but we are eager to get going after the disappointment of the game being called off last week,” said manager Eamonn Murray.
