Kilmessan on the double makes it a Meath double on the day

Kilmessan won the All-Ireland Junior Camogie title this afternoon at Pairc Tailteann with a 3-12 to 1-12 victory against Four Roads (Roscommon).

This was an impressive display by Kilmessan against a good Four Roads team who made the Meath and Leinster champions work hard for victory.

Kilmessan were completing a two-in-a-row while Ratoath's win in the cirtainraiser made a Meath double on the day.

Kilmessan were ahead by 2-5 to 1-5 following an all-action opening half with the Meath women finding the net through Megan THynne and Katie Ni Choileain.

Four Roads dictated the majority of the opening half with Lizzy Glennon-Tully finishing a fine move to the net in the 20th minute.

The Four Roads points arrived from Shauna Fallon (free), Patricia Lennon, Siobhan Coyle, Niamh Coyle and Aisling Dempsey.

Kilmessan countered those scores with points from a brace of Aileen Donnelly frees and two from play by Thynne along with a well-taken effort by Tracy King.

The sides shared six points in an absorbing third-quarter as Kilmessan maintained a three-point advantage.
