Meath set for Louth on Sunday

Meath will take on Louth in their second official pre-season senior football challenge to mark the official opening of the new clubhouse at Oliver Plunkett's GAA club (Mell), Drogheda on Sunday, 2pm.

At this stage it remains unclear if the Dunboyne contingent will return to the fold for this encounter.
The new clubhouse will be officially opened by GAA president John Horan at 12pm before Louth, under their new boss Wayne Kierans, take on what is expected to be another experimental Meath side.
Ahead of the start of the O'Byrne Cup away to Laois on Saturday 8th December Meath manager Andy McEntee is likely to use the game against Louth as another opportunity to assess the new players while he will also welcome back some of the more established players.
Kilmainham's Mickey Newman, St Colmcille's Graham Reilly, Ratoath's Bryan McMahon and Longwood's Mickey Burke could all feature after sitting out last Sunday's victory over Leitrim.
Others like Rathkenny's Robbie Garry, Moylagh's Sean Reilly, Ballinabrackey's Danny Quinn, Na Fianna's Eoin McDonnell, Longwood's Eoin Lynch and St Colmcille's James Conlon could all be given another chance to impress.
Louth will play their first game since losing to Leitrim by 10 points in round two of the All-Ireland SFC qualifiers and former Wee County minor and u-20 manager Kierans is hoping to have a huge crowd in Drogheda for the first game of his reign.
After Meath open their O'Byrne Cup defence away to Laois they will then welcome Longford to Navan on Saturday 15th December before playing Dublin in the Sean Cox fundraiser in Pairc Tailteann the following day, Sunday 16th December.
The group stages of the O'Byrne Cup will conclude on Saturday 5th January away to Wexford with the NFL Div 2 starting on Sunday 27th January when Tipparary come to Navan for the first round.
