Meath manager Andy McEntee

Meath to face Offaly in Leinster opener

After the disappointment of losing to Longford this year in the Leinster SFC Meath manager Andy McEntee will have to prepare to tackle Offaly in a first round tie in 2019.

Meath will face Offaly after tonight's draw on RTE that saw the Royal County avoid Dublin's side of the draw..

If Meath can negotiate an Offaly side now managed by John Maughan they will face Carlow in the quarter-final.

On the same side of the draw, Westmeath will play Laois in a quarter-final and the winner will meet Meath or Offaly or Carlow in the semi-final.

The other side of the draw has Louth against Wexford with the winner rewarded by a tie against Dublin.

Wicklow will play Kildare and the winner will play Longford.
