Big gigs for Brave Giant

Brave Giant’s biggest headline show to date will be at The Olympia Theatre, Dublin on Saturday 9th November 2019, it has been announced.
Later this week Brave Giant will play its largest indoor stage in Ireland to date, the annual 2FM Christmas Ball in aid of the ISPCC. Ross, Mark, Podge and Emmett will join Wild Youth, Wyvern Lingo, Chasing Abbey, Keywest, Walking On Cars and Hozier on Friday 14th December at 3Arena.  It’s the stuff dreams are made of.  “It was an honour to be invited to join amazing line up” say Ross from the band, and we are literally counting down the days!”

Formed in 2011, Mark Prunty (guitar/vocals), Podge Gill (guitar/vocals), Ross McNerney (banjo/mandolin), Emmett Collum (drums) are the four Longford men of Brave Giant.  Their love of Irish music is evident in their sound, a skilfully achieved blend of rock, folk and alternative influences.
Both of these concert dates are beyond significant for the band set against the backdrop of two wonderful years which includes the Co Longford based band playing the main stages at Longitude, Sea Sessions, Sunflowerfest and Groove Festival amongst others, together with The Word Stage in Mindfield at Electric Picnic, and headline other festivals including Longford Town Festival, where an estimated audience of over 5,000 came out to see them this summer, Brave Giant also travelled to London last month for two sold out shows at The Islington.
Brave Giant continued the band’s sell-out run here at home with two shows at Button Factory Dublin on September 21st and 22nd last, together with clocking up their second itunes No 1 with ‘Somebody’s Someone’

Since releasing the first commercial track in 2016 (‘Lordy Lordy’), Brave Giant has had a string of top 5 singles. ‘Way To Love’, the single went all the way to no 1 on iTunes main pop chart last winter.
The new single ‘Somebody’s Someone’ was already a huge hit in the band’s live show and allows Mark, Podge, Emmett and Ross collectively channel their romantic side!  The No 1 single also features a stunning string section with Niamh Crowley (violins), Steve Wickham (violins), Austin McManus (Viola) and Anna Houston (Cello) providing this beautiful sound.
The last two years have been remarkable for the independent band.  The Time I Met the Devil single from 2017 has enjoyed almost 100,000 views alone (featuring Irish actor and comedian, Joe Rooney, Fr Ted), and 2016’s debut Lordy Lordy is just shy of 200,000 adding to the band’s impressive overall tally of over 1,000,000 online video views.  The independent band’s Spotify streams have also surpassed the impressive 1,000,000 mark.F.  https://www.facebook.com/BraveGiantOfficial
