Body found in search for missing man

A body has been found in the River Boyne in the Beauparc/Slane area, by volunteers searching for a missing man.

Searches have been ongoing for the past three weeks for missing Kentstown man Mark Gargan (21) who entered the Boyne at the New Bridge, Navan, on Sunday 22nd November.

A body was discovered at around 11am this morning close to Beauparc by a crew from Meath River Rescue at the area known as the 'Big A' weir.

Gardai have confirmed this evening that the remains taken from the river are those of Mark Gargan.
