Second single from Kells singer's debut album
Kells performer Fiona Melady is set to release her debut album and the second single, 'Love in the Movies', has just been released from 'The Fear I Fear'. It is the first single from Fiona to be distributed by Universal Music Ireland. Composed, arranged and produced by Fiona, it is an upbeat song with a killer hook. As the title and refrain suggest, it is a rose-tinted spectacles scenario about perfect love that we are led to expect from watching the classics on the big screen, from 'Casablanca' and 'Dangerous Liaisons', to 'Wuthering Heights' and 'Gone with the Wind'. Starting out in the Dublin music scene playing keyboards with rock band Turn, Fiona Melady has since been working with acclaimed artists such as Gemma Hayes and Paddy Casey and now is finally set to release her own debut album. The single cover of Frankenstein and his bride is an original painting by Squigley - a tongue-in-cheek take on 'Love in the Movies', with graphic design by Martina Leonard. A mesmerising performer, Fiona woos fans wherever she plays, whether with her full band or just on her own with keyboards. She may be better known as the husky female vocalist who sang 'Don't sit under the Apple Tree' on the Bulmers Christmas TV advertisement over the past two years.
