Meath duo celebrate lottery wins

Two lucky Meath people celebrated National Lottery wins over the past week, winning a total of €91,500 between them. Olive Tallon, from The Old Mill, Ratoath, won €50,500, including a holiday to South Africa, on last Saturday's 'Winning Streak' TV gameshow on RTE, while Elaine Lynch who played on behalf of her uncle, Jackie Lynch, from Kilbeg, Kells, won €41,000 on last Saturday week's show. Jackie Lynch is a single man who cares full-time for his father, John Lynch. He has several nieces and nephews but he chose his niece, Elaine, to represent him as she is good at mixing with people and he knew she would enjoy it. He says he is not a man for travel - he was in London once about 20 years ago and has no interest in travelling further. Elaine sees her uncle Jackie regularly as they are a very close-knit family and she lives in Carlanstown just a few miles from her uncle. Elaine and her boyfriend, Tomás Coyne, are planning to get married in February of next year. She works for FBD Insurance in Navan. Jackie Lynch bought his winning ticket from Rodney Dolan, Centra, Nobber. Olive Tallon from Ratoath is originally from Glasnevin, Dublin, and moved to Clonsilla when she married. Then, 13 years ago, she moved to live in Ratoath. She and her husband, David, have been married for 24 years and have a son, Eric (19), and a daughter, Jessica (15). Olive works for the Office of Public Works and it was a big week for her at work also as the OPW moved to its new headquarters in Trim. She is very involved with her local club in Sean Eiffe Park. They are putting on 'Mama Mia' at Christmas to raise funds and Olive is playing the part that Julie Waters played in the movie. Her winning ticket was bought in Conway's Spar, Fairyhouse Road, Ratoath.
