Meath beaten by Waterford in All-Ireland Camogie

Waterford looked good at Pairc Tailteann today as they defeated Meath by 5-9 to 0-11 in the All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship third round.

Goals made the difference for Waterford in the opening half as they established a 4-5 to 0-6 interval advantage and they did enough after the break as Niamh Rockett found the net.

In that opening half two goals each from Beth Carton and Annie Fitzgerald were vital as the Munster women dictated.

They added points from a brace of Carton frees and one from play with Rockett, Fiona Morrissey and Sarah Leacy all on target.

Hard-working Meath lacked nothing in terms of effort and had points on the board from three Jane Dolan frees plus one from a '45' while Aoife Minogue and substitute Fia O'Brien also split the posts.

Meath upped the work-rate considerable in the second-half and denied Carton a goal when they saved her 36th minute penalty, but ultimately Waterford were just too strong for the hosts.

Meath added second-half points from Dolan (three), Minogue and Megan Thynne.
