Gary Rogers warming up in St Petersburg last night

Gary Rogers and Amanda McQuillan set for Cup final day

Gary Rogers from Bohermeen and Amanda McQuillan from Johnstown (Navan) will be on duty in the men's and women's FAI Cup finals at the Aviva Stadium on Sunday.

After last night's Europa League game against Zenit, Bohermeen man Gary Rogers will turn his focus to the next challenge - the FAI Cup final in which he will be hoping to make the starting line up again for Dundalk as they prepare to defend the trophy against Cork City at the Aviva Stadium on Sunday.

Rogers helped Dundalk to the three in-a-row of League titles this season (his second with the club) and that feat qualifies them for the Champions League again next season.

They have two more games to play in the Europa League and are second the group at this stage with qualification for the knock-out phase still a real possibility

WOMENS' FINAL
Meath woman Amanda McQuillan will be hoping to feeature for Shelbourne Ladies who are looking to use last year’s defeat as motivation for Women’s Senior Cup final success at the Aviva Stadium on Sunday in the curtainraiser to the Dundalk v Cork City game.

Shelbourne top the Continental Tyres Women’s National League and go into Sunday’s final on the back of an impressive 6-1 win over Galway United at Eamonn Deacy Park last Saturday.

The Shelbourne squad includes six players who last month represented Ireland Under 19s in an international tournament that saw them qualify for the European Championships.

Ireland topped their group which included Italy, Wales and Macedonia without conceding a goal as Amanda McQuillan kept three clean sheets.

Sunday’s cup final takes place at the Aviva Stadium with a 12.05pm kick-off for the women's game  - tickets are priced at just €10 for adults and €5 for children.
