WATCH: 'Red is the Rose' promotional song for Trim Salmon of Knowledge Festival

'Red is the Rose' has been recorded by Trim musicians Megan Pottinger, Grace Nally and Siofra Lynch as a promotional song for the inaugural Trim Salmon of Knowledge Festival, which takes place on 27th August.

The talented trio - with Megan on vocals, Grace on harp and Siofra on tin whistle- just completed their Leaving Cert in June. 'Red is the Rose' was recently recorded in Jam Studios to promote the festival which coincides with the start of the nineth Race Around Ireland.

Organised by Trim Tourism Network, the festival celebrates one of Ireland's most famous legends 'The Salmon of Knowledge' and takes place on Water Heritage Day.

Race Around Ireland draws many of the world's top ultra-cyclists to Trim for the race which begins on 27th August and continues non-stop over 2,150km around the coastline of Ireland and finishes only when the final competitor makes it back to County Meath inside the five day time limit.
