Ardán Collective confirms acquisition of Castle Arch Hotel
Trim establishment purchased from Cusack Hotel Group
Independent Irish hospitality group Ardán Collective is delighted to announce the acquisition of Castle Arch Hotel in Trim. The hotel was purchased from The Cusack Hotel Group, a respected and long-established family business with deep roots in County Meath, for an undisclosed sum, with support from JLL, MWM Legal and Quantus Advisory.
The acquisition marks a strategic step in Ardán Collective's continued growth, expanding its existing presence in County Meath where it already operates Bellinter House Hotel & Spa, the hotel group states. It also reinforces the group's commitment to investing in local hospitality and supporting the communities that make the Royal County such a special place to live, work and visit, according to Sheila O’Riordan, CEO of Ardán Collective.
“We are delighted to welcome Castle Arch Hotel to the Ardán Collective family," she says. "Having lived in County Meath for nearly 30 years, I have a strong personal connection to the county, its people and its local businesses. The Cusack family has played a significant role in Meath life over many decades, and we are proud to build on their legacy while investing in Castle Arch Hotel's future and strengthening its ties with the town of Trim.”
The Castle Arch Hotel features 21 en-suite bedrooms and three distinct dining spaces including The Arch Bar, The Arch Lounge and The Conservatory Restaurant. The three-star hotel is also a popular venue for weddings and civil ceremonies. Its team of 75 employees is led by general manager, Danny Connell, who joined the hotel in 2022. The new owners have confirmed that it will be business as usual at the property, with Ardán Collective looking forward to working alongside its well-established and highly respected team.
Looking ahead, Ardán Collective plans to invest in the hotel's development with ambitions to expand its guest accommodation and introduce a wellness offering, reflecting the group's wider vision to position wellness as a defining feature across its portfolio.
Alongside its investment plans, Ardán Collective is committed to maintaining and building on Castle Arch Hotel’s longstanding community connections, including its support for local charities, community initiatives such as Trim Tidy Towns, fundraising activities and the development of young hospitality talent in Co Meath.
Commenting on the sale, the Cusack family said: “After 23 wonderful years at the heart of hospitality in Trim, we are closing a very special chapter in our lives at Castle Arch Hotel. More than just a business, it has been a journey filled with countless memories, friendships and lasting connections. We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved and sincerely grateful to all our staff, past and present, customers and suppliers. We wish Ardán Collective every success as they take Castle Arch Hotel forward into the future.”
General Manager Danny Connell added: “It’s an exciting time for Castle Arch Hotel as we become part of Ardán Collective. There is a real opportunity to build on the hotel's strong foundations, invest in its future and further strengthen its position within the local community. I’m delighted to be part of this new chapter and look forward to working alongside our fantastic team and the new owners to bring their vision for the hotel to life.”
