Athboy filling station plan

A planning application to redevelop the filling station site at the junction of O'Growney Street and Kildalkey Road in Athboy has been lodged with Meath County Council.

The plans, if approved, would see the site continued to be used for a filling station with the existing forecourt demolished and a new 24-hour forecourt area construction in its place.

Road Fitters Ireland Limited is seeking permission for alterations to an existing two storey dwelling on the site to include for demolition of an existing single storey section and external store, elevational and internal changes with associated car parking and site development works. The existing service station forecourt, pumps, canopy, various tanks above and below ground and compounds and service building are to be demolished.

The plans provide for four underground 60,000 litre fuel storage tanks and the construction of a new 24-hour forecourt area including four fueling pumps, new canopy, underground fuel storage tanks, oil dispensing and delivery bay and one 5,000 litre above ground Adblue storage tank.

Also included are two drive through car washes and a jet wash area with associated three 10,000 litre water storage tanks, petrol and car wash interceptors, an EV charging point and alterations to the existing vehicular entrances and reconfiguration of the existing car parking areas.
