Meath folk featuring across TV channels this week
Locals on screen from driving tests to househunters to naíonra
As 'The Two Johnnies Late Night Lock-in’ continues recording for a fourth series in Swan's Pub in Skryne, Meath residents feature on many more television series across a number of channels this week.
The final episode of 'The Random Driving Test' with comedian PJ Gallagher this Thursday, 22nd October at 7pm on RTÉ One features Navan-based travel agent Trish O'Reilly try to answer one simple question asked of drivers all across the country: if you had to redo your driving test right now… would you pass? She faces real routes, surprise hazards (imagine, in Navan!) and the chance to win up to €1,000 cash.
'Help Me Buy a Home' airing on Virgin Media featured Meath folk last Sunday, and will again this coming Sunday. On the show, agent Liz O'Kane helps singletons, couples and 'right-sizers' find a home, helping with bidding and advice on where and what they should buy.
Sunday saw young couple Adam Saurin and Maya Gangarh search for their first home near Maya’s home village of Clonard, a new build in Kinnegad and a semi-detached in Johnstown, Navan. The episode on Sunday 25th follows Alex Galvin, a creative graphic designer from Dunboyne, in her search for a dream home. Alex suffers from narcolepsy and cataplexy which impacts her life in many ways. It means she cannot drive and she dreams of a Wexford country cottage with a big garden that is also walking distance to transport and amenities so she can get around easily.
Starting on Mondays on TG4 from 26th October at 9pm is 'Naíonra', a three-part series where cameras follow all the action in two naíonraí in two different communities - one in Ráth Chairn and the other in West Belfast. Eileen Ní Lúpáin is the director of Naíonra Ráth Chairn in Meath, and she relishes the sense of joy the children bring to the naíonra every day.
In West Belfast, Dolores Barnes is the Director of Naíscoil Bhreandáin and is proud that the Naíscoil is part of Northern Ireland’s first Gaelscoil.
