Two arrests following €161,000 cannabis seizure in Meath

Two people have been arrested following the seizure of €161,000 worth of cannabis at two separate locations in Meath yesterday (Tuesday).

The seizure of 11.5kg of herbal cannabis was part of an intelligence-led operation involving Revenue Customs officers, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and both Meath and Westmeath Divisional Drugs Units.

One male, aged in his 20s, was arrested and detained in a Garda station in County Meath under the provisions of Section 4 of Criminal Justice Act 1984 in relation to a seizure of 5.7 kg of Cannabis Herb.

A female, aged in her 20s, was arrested and also detained under Section 4 in relation to a seizure of 5.8 kg of Cannabis Herb. They were both subsequently charged and released to appear at Trim District Court at a later date.
