Valley Drama Group issue open call

Delvin based Valley Drama Group have all their preparations in place as they are set to cast their latest production.

The vibrant drama society have issued an open call to established and aspiring actors in Westmeath and adjoining areas to join them as they gear up for their latest play.

On Thursday, September 3 at 7pm, the drama collective will gather at Mary Gaffney’s Drama Lounge, Delvin to recruit the cast for their latest offering. The group are remaining tight lipped about which play will be staged, but have indicated that it will be by John B Keane.

Group member Colette Lynch said: “This year we are hoping to introduce some new faces, both on stage and behind the scenes. Everyone with an interest in drama is invited to join us in Mary Gaffney’s Drama Lounge, Delvin. This is an open call, so there is no experience necessary.”

Earlier this year the Valley Drama Group brought together a talented local cast, reflecting the very communities at the heart of the drama, to stage one of Ireland’s most beloved plays Dancing at Lughnasa.
