Glenveagh rolls up its sleeves for Navan Tidy Towns

On the morning of 25th July, a group of Glenveagh staff traded their desks for litter pickers, pulling on hi-vis vests to join Navan Tidy Towns volunteers for one of their regular Saturday morning clean-ups around the town.

It was a practical show of support for an ongoing partnership, and a reminder that for Glenveagh, one of Ireland’s leading homebuilders, supporting the communities it builds in means more than simply delivering homes.

Glenveagh’s relationship with Navan Tidy Towns began in 2022, when both organisations collaborated to support a litter-picking initiative with Loreto Secondary School, encouraging students to play their part in looking after their local area. In 2024, the programme expanded to include St Joseph’s Mercy Secondary School, giving even more young people an opportunity to get involved in the maintenance of their town.

That same year, Navan Tidy Towns featured in Glenveagh’s national “Community is what we do” brand campaign, which ran across TV, outdoor, social and digital channels, bringing the work taking place at community level in Navan to a national audience.

The support has been practical too. Glenveagh has provided Navan Tidy Towns with equipment such as litter pickers, while in April this year the company sponsored plants and flowers to add additional greenery to Academy Street.

The partnership is coordinated by Glenveagh’s dedicated Community Engagement Team, working closely with Navan Tidy Towns. Glenveagh is looking forward to continuing to work with the group and strengthening the partnership as its community in Navan grows.

That commitment is reflected in Glenveagh’s wider presence across the town. The company has established a number of communities in Navan in recent years and its investment in the area extends beyond the homes themselves.

Among its local supports, Glenveagh sponsors Simonstown Gaels GFC and as well as OMP United soccer programme. The company has also supported Navan Community First Responders, presenting the group with five kit bags including defibrillators to assist them in their work.

Local schools have benefited too, with Glenveagh delivering construction site safety talks at St Anne’s Loreto and St Stephen’s NS, as well as career talks to senior-cycle students at Loreto Secondary School and St Patrick’s Classical School. Within its own Navan developments, planting mornings and family fun days have also been organised to help neighbours meet, connect and foster a sense of community spirit.

It forms part of Glenveagh’s dedicated Building Lasting Communities programme and its wider commitment to creating flourishing communities in the areas where it builds. That means investing not only in new homes, but in local organisations, initiatives and the people who give their time to making their communities better places to live.

In Navan, the relationship with Navan Tidy Towns is a particularly visible example of that approach. From supporting school litter-picking initiatives and providing practical equipment to sponsoring planting and joining volunteers on the ground, the partnership has continued to develop since 2022.

And on Saturday mornings like 25th July, that commitment can be as straightforward as pulling on a hi-vis vest, picking up a litter picker and getting stuck in.
