Brosnan back as London mob boss

Navan native actor Pierce Brosnan is back as crime family patriarch Conrad Harrigan in the newly released trailer for the second season of Paramount+ crime drama, 'MobLand'.

The new season finds the Harrigans facing a civil war within their North London criminal empire. As violence escalates and loyalties begin to fracture, the family’s fixer Harry Da Souza, played by Tom Hardy, attempts to prevent its collapse.

The official logline reads: “As violence spills into every corner of their lives, loyalties snap, safety proves temporary, and the battle for power leaves no room for mercy.”

Brosnan stars alongside Hardy and Helen Mirren, who plays Conrad’s wife Maeve Harrigan. The returning ensemble also includes Irish actors Emmett J Scanlan and Joanne Froggatt, as well as Paddy Considine, Lara Pulver, Anson Boon, Mandeep Dhillon, Jasmine Jobson, Teddie Allen, Johnny Flynn and Ophelia Lovibond. Janet McTeer and Toby Jones also feature.

Hardy’s future on the series came into question following reports of a disagreement with its producers. However, a subsequent meeting in London reportedly established a path for his potential return for a third season. Paramount+ has yet to formally renew the drama.

MobLand is produced in association with Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios. David C. Glasser, Guy Ritchie, Jez Butterworth, Hardy, Ivan Atkinson, Dean Baker, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari and Keith Cox serve as executive producers.

The ten-episode second season will premiere on Paramount+ on 18th September, with new episodes released weekly on Fridays ahead of the finale on 20th November.
