'Having that personalised support can be life changing'... Navan supported education centre announces open evening

A supported education college in Navan will open its doors to members of the public on the evening of Thursday 27th August, demonstrating how the person-centred environment can enable students with additional support needs to further their education and thrive.

National Learning Network (NLN) Navan, based in Mullaghboy Industrial Estate, provides personalised education, training, and development opportunities for people with disabilities, autism, social anxiety, mental health challenges and those who require additional support to achieve their goals. All courses are funded by either the Louth and Meath Education and Training Board or the HSE.

The courses at NLN Navan offer recognised QQI qualifications while helping students to build the skills, confidence, and independence needed to progress to further education, training, apprenticeships, or employment.

Dr Rita Day, Director of Learning, said: “At NLN, we focus on each student’s development in a holistic sense, not just qualifications. What we offer is personalised education for those who might struggle in traditional educational settings. Having that personalised support can be life changing.”

One former NLN student shared their experience, saying, "If you didn't get on well in school, have learning difficulties, or just need a different way of learning, you'll meet people here who'll help you along the way. Nobody judges you, everyone gets on together, and you'll make friends for life."

The open evening at NLN Navan takes place from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday 27th August. Visitors on the evening will have the opportunity to meet students and staff, learn more about our training programmes, and see first-hand the pathways NLN provides to further education, apprenticeships, and employment.
