TV drama filming to bring temporary parking closures to Navan

Residents and businesses in Navan are being advised of temporary parking closures and traffic restrictions later this month as a new television drama for RTÉ and the BBC is filmed in the town.

Production company Conkerfox Film Productions has issued notices confirming that filming for a new five-part drama series based on true events will take place in Navan between 19th and 22nd July.

Filming will take place at a number of approved locations across the town, including St Mary's Church, the Newgrange Hotel, The Foundry Pub, The Lantern Pub and adjoining public streets.

According to the notice, filming will be carried out over the three-day period, with intermittent stop-and-go traffic management in operation where required. Any temporary traffic holds will be supervised by a qualified traffic management company and kept to the minimum duration necessary.

The most significant impact will be on parking in the town centre.

Fair Green Car Park (Bedford Place) will be closed from 19th to 22nd July, while a number of parking spaces on Church Hill and Bridge Street will also be unavailable during the filming period.

Residents with parking permits for the Fair Green area are being asked, where possible, to park on the opposite side of the road near the church and school during the closure.

Alternative paid parking will be available at O'Mahony's GAA grounds and the LMETB car park at the former tax office on Railway Street, while free parking will be available at Moat Hill, behind St Patrick's Classical School.

The production company said every effort would be made to ensure access to homes, businesses and pedestrian routes is maintained throughout filming, while disruption will be kept to a minimum.

A dedicated locations team will be on site for the duration of filming to liaise with residents and businesses and address any queries or concerns.

The company has described the production as a new five-part television drama based on true events, which will be broadcast on RTÉ and the BBC.
