Chalk Talk: Green Flag and special guests for Heronstown NS

Scoil Mhuire, Heronstown NS celebrated the raising of its second Active School Flag on Friday, with special guests Adam O'Neill and Philip Duff helping to mark the occasion.

Both former pupils returned to their old school to raise the flag alongside the children. The visit was particularly special for Adam, who was preparing for Meath's All-Ireland semi-final clash with Mayo the following day.

Another special guest was past pupil Ava Curran, a talented young footballer who has represented Meath at both Under-14 and Under-16 level, as well as her club Dee Rangers. Used to big games and big crowds, Ava is a cool customer on the pitch and a fantastic role model for younger pupils.

The school's strong football tradition continues through current pupil Caelan Duff, son of former Meath footballer Philip Duff, highlighting the close links between the school and the county game.

The Active School Flag recognises the school's commitment to promoting physical activity and healthy lifestyles, and pupils celebrated the achievement following a week packed with activities and events.
