Council invested €154m in capital housing schemes
Last year Meath County Council invested €154m in capital housing schemes, while three major social housing developments were opened in Navan, Clonee and Ashbourne to deliver 231 homes.
Housing is just one area in the council's annual report for 2025 which was adopted at last week's full council meeting.
Deputy Chief Executive Des Foley said 2025 was "another year of very strong progress for the council, delivering on their corporate plan and shared ambitions for the council".
"A key priority was the continued delivery of housing and we invested 154m in capital schemes and we continue to exceed national targets. During the year we opened three major residential developments in Navan, Clonee and Ashbourne delivering 231 new homes from projects valued at €81m. Economic development continued to be a central focus and we marked it with the official opening of the Thrive Centre of Business Excellence in September.
"Other key infrastructural milestones included the opening of the East Meath Civic Centre in Bettystown and we set out across all the sectors the various achievements and also the progress made in respect of our corporate plan," he said.
