Meath to face Mayo in Castlebar in All-Ireland SFC round three
Thirty years on from the famous All-Ireland SFC final replay between the sides in 1996 Meath and Mayo will renew rivalries in round three of the new look All-Ireland series when they clash in Castlebar next weekend - date and time to be confirmed later this afternoon.
The draw for round three was held live on Morning Ireland on RTE Radio this morning from the Tullamore Court Hotel and threw up some fascinating clashes, none more so than the rematch between Meath and Mayo.
The two sides played a challenge match following their early exits from the provincial championships earlier this summer with Meath coming away with the win, but that game will have no relevance ahead of next weekend's battle for a place in the quarter-finals.
The other big game of the weekend will see the two favourites for Sam Maguire, Kerry and Armagh clash in Killarney, while Donegal will take on Dublin, possibly in Parnell Park after Dublin manager Ger Brennan expressed a desire to see his side play at the Donnycarney venue.
The final round three game will see Monaghan welcome Leinster champions Westmeath to Clones.
