Record-breaking graduation celebrated at Dunboyne College

Dunboyne College of Further Education and Training marked a historic milestone this week with its largest graduation event in the college’s history with three fully booked ceremonies held at Fairyhouse Racecourse.

The scale of this year’s ceremonies reflects the fact the college is now the largest in the country.

Welcoming the graduates and their families, Catherine Fox, Principal, Dunboyne College, described the day as “a moment to pause and celebrate everything that has brought students to this point,” recognising the determination shown by graduates in overcoming challenges and staying committed to their goals.

In her address to graduating students she highlighted the college’s strong progression record, noting the significant number of higher education offers secured by students in recent years as a testament to their ambition and hard work.

Chairperson of the Board of Management, Cllr Nick Killian, congratulated graduates on reaching a significant milestone. He praised the transformative role of further education, noting that it is “about more than qualifications—it is about growth, confidence and opening new doors.” He paid tribute to the dedication of staff and highlighted the unique strength of the college community, stating that its success is defined not by buildings but by “the quality of teaching, the dedication of staff and the supportive learning environment created every day.”

As the 2025/2026 class groups graduated Dunboyne College has reported a strong interest in courses for 2026/2027 with a large number of students already registered. Waiting lists are in operation on a few courses according to the college but any students interested in applying are encouraged to submit their applications soon to ensure they are offered their first choice.
