Banned and fined after drink driving

A 35 year-old supermarket worker who admitted a charge of drink driving was fined and banned from driving.

Lisa McKeown of Clondoogan, Summerhill had a fine of €200, plus a driving ban of three years, imposed on her at Trim District Court.

She was charged with the offence on 17th May last year at Clondoogan. Sergeant Peter Clarke said the case arose from a single vehicle accident. The defendant was found to have a blood alcohol reading of 187mg. A charge against the defendant for careless driving on the occasion was withdrawn following her guilty plea. Judge Eirinn McKiernan granted a request to postpone the driving ban for six months.
