Didn’t comply when told to move away from a bonfire
A 54 year-old man who didn’t comply when told to move away from a bonfire, made a €300 charitable donation to MCDAR.
As a result Derek Rennicks of Windtown Green, Navan had public order charges struck out at Trim District Court on Tuesday last.
The charges arose from an incident on Halloween night on 31st October last at Dean Cogan Place in the town.
The circumstances were outlined at Trim District Court in January, when it was stated he was drunk and very unsteady and getting very close to the bonfire. He was abusive to Garda who asked him to leave. The defendant was given the opportunity to make a contribution to the local drugs and alcohol service.Judge Eirinn McKiernan was told at the sitting of the court on Tuesday that the defendant made the payment.
