Navan man warned he goes to jail next time

A 27-year-old man, Shane Conaty from Claremont Estate, Navan was warned by a Judge if he was back in court again he would go to jail.

Judge Eirinn McKiernan imposed a two month sentence which she suspended for 12 months on the defendant at Trim District Court after gardai came across the defendant in an intoxicated and aggressive state on 30th November last. He has 31 previous convictions for public disorder, possession of drugs, criminal damage, and driving without insurance.

Barrister James O’Brien said that the defendant apologised to Gardai before his court appearance and his offences were drink related.
