Kilmessan man charged with possession of over €300,00 of cocaine

A 42 year-old man from Kilmessan facing charges relating to 15 kilograms of cocaine with a value in excess of €300,000 was returned for trial at Trim Circuit Criminal Court later this month.

Dennis Boggan of Mountlands, Kilmessan appeared again in custody on Tuesday at Trim District Court, which heard that a copy of the book of evidence was served on the accused.

He is charged with three charges concerning the possession of the drug, two counts for possessing it for sale or supply, and in one instance with a market value in excess of €13,000.

The offences are alleged to have taken place on 24th October last at Straneymore, Rathmoylan.

The accused was sent forward with consent to bail to the next sitting of the higher court on 27th January next.

Judge Eirinn McKiernan ordered that his defence team be supplied with copies of interviews.

She acceded to an application by barrister James O’Brien to assign a second barrister in the case in which Edward Bradbury is the instructing solicitor.
