New Year Messages: Here’s to 2026 being a year of opportunity and community spirit

Cllr Conor Tormey, Cathaoirleach, Ashbourne MD

As Cathaoirleach of the Ashbourne Municipal District, I would like to extend my warmest wishes for a happy and healthy New Year to all residents. 2025 was a year of progress, marked by the official opening of 74 new houses at Millrace in Ashbourne, providing much-needed homes for families, and the official opening of Phase 2 of Ashbourne Linear Park, which provided a new state-of-the-art skate park, 3x3 basketball court, and a beautiful walkway and footbridge over the Broadmeadow River.

Looking ahead, Ashbourne MD will continue to benefit from public realm enhancements and regeneration projects, supported by Meath County Council’s €10 million regeneration programme. Enterprise and business support will be boosted by the Thrive Centre of Business Excellence in Navan, which continues to nurture local start-ups and social enterprises all over the county. Climate action initiatives and digital transformation projects will further enhance sustainability and services, ensuring the Ashbourne MD remains a vibrant and accessible place for all.

Thank you for your continued support—here’s to 2026 being a year of opportunity and community spirit.
