FUNDRAISER

On Saturday 17th January, the unique, high-achieving small parish of Moynalvey will present their Night with Sporting Legends, all of whom hail from the same small parcel of land in south Meath.

Hosted by RTE's Marty Morrissey, the Moynalvey GFC promoted evening in the Knightsbrook Hotel Trim will offer an amazing insight into what makes great sports people and why so many were produced in a place so small.

Moynalvey/Kiltale is your run of the mill rural parish in south Meath, two national schools, two churches, a shop at one end and a pub at the other, a Gaelic Football Club (Moynalvey GFC) and a Hurling & Camogie Club (Kiltale H&CC) the heartbeat of their communities.

Uniquely this small rural parish has produced two Irish international rugby players, two Olympians, a Gold Cup and Grand National winning jockey and a two-time All-Ireland SFC winner.

Rugby stars Devin Toner and Marie Louise Reilly, jockey Robbie Power, Olympians Sara Treacy and Dessie McGann and All-Ireland winning footballer Liam Harnan will take to the stage to regale tales of their glory days and of those who helped them get there.

Marty Morrissey take to the stage to interview the six guests, with five of them born and raised within 5km of Moynalvey GFC pitch.

All went to Primary school in the parish and all bar Dessie McGann played football with Moynalvey.

Marty will delve into the minds of the six guests to discover the mindset of elite sports people, the highs, lows and memories along with a few stories and yarns of their careers across the various sports of rugby, horse racing, athletics and Gaelic Football, who all have competed at national and international level in their sports.
