Double act of songwriting and musicianship at The Lantern
Navan date for Greenshine and SJ MacArdle
Saturday 8th November will see a fantastic double bill at The Lantern in Navan featuring Cork's RTE Folk Awards nominated Greenshine, and Louth's SJ McArdle. Both acts have been singled out for the quality of their songwriting and musicianship with Greenshine's Mary Greene described as 'a songwriter like no other' by RTE Radio 1.
Her songs have been covered by a variety of artists including Seán Keane. Ellie Shine has been celebrated as one of the voices of her generation, featuring on many of Greenshines' RTE Airplay Chart-topping singles, while Noel's multi-instrumental and vocal talents have been leant to the recordings of artists as diverse as The Republic of Loose and Makem and Clancy. Stephen Joseph McArdle is artist-in-association at Droichead Arts Centre's and his 'Old Ghosts in the Water' is lauded as 'an impressive song cycle … the songs are intriguing and evocative' by The Irish Times. He has acted as curator for both The Drogheda Arts Festival and the Irish Maritime Festival. We are promised a night to remember, filled with laughter and tears, amazing music and good vibes. The music will straddle the boundaries of Folk, Americana and Indie. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to see two talented acts in one unforgettable evening. Support by local artist Colette Clinton.
