Two sentences in two days for Dublin woman

A woman received two prison sentences from two different courts in two days. Helen Connors (21), from Cruisepark Drive, Tyrrellstown, Dublin, pleaded guilty to theft at Sports Direct in Navan.

The court heard on 21st December last year Ms Connors entered the store and stole clothing valued at €856. She has 29 previous convictions with the most recent being from Naas court, the day before she was in Trim on this offence, and was given a 10 month sentence.

She has been in custody since 17th July on this charge and the defence told the court she pled guilty as early as possible. Judge Eirinn McKiernan sentenced her to a two month prison backdated sentence.
