Successful Meath women on the road to leadership

Guest speakers at Women in Biz + Tech Network lunch in Kilmessan next week

The route to leadership is rarely straight and can have a number of junctions.

The guest speakers at the Women in Biz + Tech Network this month have each had a number of high profile positions and are now in positions of leadership.

They will chat on stage about those journeys, what inspired them to want to be a leader, how they navigate challenges and what advice they would give their younger self.

The first guest is Meath native Nina Carberry who is an award winning champion jockey. She won Dancing With The Stars in 2022, was a coach with Ireland’s Fittest Family and she has written a number of books for children.

Last year her career took another turn when, on her first outing into politics, she secured a seat as a Fine Gael MEP in the Midlands-North West.

Also sharing her career experiences will be Eleanor Meade. Now the Business Operations Manager at the family run Meade Potato Company, she previously worked in finance in private practice and in the public sector.

The company has continued to grow and invest in county Meath.

Attendees will also hear contributions from Allyson English of Jigsaw Better Business and from photographer Jill O’Meara.

The Women in Biz +Tech Network is a collaboration between County Meath Chamber and Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Meath and the MC who chats on stage to the guests is Elaine Keogh of Solstice Media Ltd.

“At County Meath Chamber, we’re delighted to see the Meath Women in Business & Tech Network go from strength to strength. It’s all about bringing women together to share experiences, make connections, and support one another. We’d love to see as many businesswomen as possible at the Autumn event this September which promises to be a great afternoon of community and networking,” said Paula McCaul, chief executive of County Meath Chamber.

Aoife Fegan, Senior Enterprise Development Officer, Meath LEO added: “The Women in Business & Tech Network continues to be an invaluable pillar of support, connection, and inspiration within the Local Enterprise Office, empowering women to thrive, lead, and grow their businesses with confidence. As the network grows and relationships between members strengthen it is clear to see the importance of this network and many other female led networks.”

The event, from 12 noon to 2.30pm includes time to ask questions, dedicated networking time and a three course lunch. It all takes place in The Station House Hotel, Kilmessan, which joined Ireland’s Blue Book earlier this year.

Sponsored by Meta, the quarterly network meetings feature on-stage interviews with women from across the world of business who share their experiences and insights with the audience.

To secure a place contact trish@countymeathchamber.ie or call (046) 904 6060.

There is free parking at the hotel and all attendees are entered into draws for spot prizes.

The final WIB+T event of the year is on 10th December.
