Innovation and ambition to be celebrated at the 2025 Meath Business and Tourism Awards

The 2025 Meath Business & Tourism Awards will celebrate the “innovation, bravery and ambition” of the local business community, a launch of the event heard last week.

Held in partnership between Meath Chronicle with Meath Co Council and Boyne Valley Tourism, the MBTAs are the highlight of the business social calendar and take place for the second time in its 17 year history in Trim Castle Hotel in November. (The first awards were held here in 2009).

Speaking at the launch in the new Meath County Council Thrive Centre of Business Excellence close to Buvinda House in Navan, Cathaoirleach of Meath County Council, Cllr Wayne Harding said the “stunning, state-of-the-art” Thrive building showed the council will “always back business, and encourage innovation and ambition among our amazing businesses, big and small, throughout our county”.

“With so many businesses putting the county on the map in a variety of different ways, awards like these are so important to celebrate and recognise the adaptability, hard work, commitment and courage companies in our county display on a daily basis.

“I would like to say a massive thank you to the organisers of this awards ceremony – to everyone at the Meath Chronicle and their partners in Meath County Council and Meath Tourism. I have no doubt this year’s event will be another fantastic addition for many people in the business and tourism sectors.

“We also recognise the incredible contributions of our phenomenal tourism industry here in Meath – companies who have helped ensure Meath is right up there at the top of the table with a bustling calendar of festivals and events and a thriving food and hospitality sector to complement our beautiful coastal areas and heritage sites.

Cllr Harding finally wished all those entering their businesses in 10 categories this year “the very best of luck, and I am looking forward to a great night celebrating you all later this year.”

Meath Chronicle editor, Gavan Becton said the Meath Business & Tourism Awards were always a highlight of the social and business calendar.

He thanked their business partners and sponsors for their support, saying that the awards couldn't take place without their involvement.

“It's wonderful that our partners and sponsors return each year to back these awards and they truly wear their support for local businesses on their sleeves.”

Joining awards partners Meath County Council and Boyne Valley Tourism are sponsors Benny and Miriam Sheridan from Sheridan Insurances; the team at Alltech, Noel and Valerie Moran from Bective Stud, Dunboyne College and newly appointed principal, Catherine Fox, Meta Data Centre, Clonee represented by Aoife Flynn and Conor Corry and team at AIB Navan.

The sponsorship circle is joined for the first time by the thriving Meade Farm Group, who was represented at the launch by Business Operations Manager, Eleanor Meade and Sustainability & Communications Manager, Jeni Meade.

Once all the entries are received by the October 4th deadline, shortlisted businesses will be chosen following a final 'Pitch Night' where firms have two minutes to 'sell' their businesses to our panel of judges. It's always a brilliant occasion for networking and fun ahead of the black tie event in November.
