Bollards at Market Square to curb illegal parking
Bollards have been installed around Market Square in response to the repeated illegal parking in the area.
In recent times more and more vehicles have been found to be parked on footpaths and double yellow lines, disrupting the town for both pedestrians and drivers.
Navan Cycling Initiative reacting to the bollards said: "This was badly needed as illegal parking in this area has become a serious issue. As a pedestrian, quite often your view would be blocked by cars parked illegally on the paths here, making it very dangerous to cross.
"Likewise, as a road user, visibility was a serious issue when coming from Timmons Hill direction."
Additionally there have also been several instances of local buses being unable to get by due to illegally parked vehicles.
The installation of these bollards will prevent these incidents from occurring and increase safety levels at Market Square.
