Oxfam Navan reopens their doors to sunshine and a bright new store
Oxfam Navan reopened their doors this sunny May morning following a four-week refurbishment, unveiling a completely transformed and refreshed store.
The renovation included a full refit of the shop floor, giving the store a modern new look and feel while maintaining the warm, welcoming shopping experience loyal customers know and love. The redesign follows the same successful concept and styling introduced at Oxfam Ireland’s Holywood Superstore, which opened in 2024.
Located on Trimgate Street, the Navan shop has been part of the local community since September 1999, with customers, donors, and volunteers helping to shape the vibrant store and its place within the town over the years.
Oxfam Navan Store Manager Bridget Walsh has been with the shop since the very beginning and has seen it evolve through every stage of its journey.
“When I joined Oxfam back in 1999, it was a very different shop” she said. “It’s a real privilege to work here and to have so many volunteers, past and present, involved over the years. Everyone is delighted to be back.”
She continued: “We opened the Navan shop with just a handful of volunteers in 1999, and today that has grown to around 30 volunteers. Many of them have been with us for years and have played a huge part in the shop’s success in Navan."
"We’ve built a very loyal customer base over the years, and so many people told us how excited they were to see the refurbished store. We’re thrilled to reopen with a fresh new look and to continue being part of the Navan community for many years to come. I’d invite anyone passing by to call in and take a look around the new store.”
Trevor Anderson, Director of Trading at Oxfam Ireland, added: “The Navan Oxfam store has gone through many changes since its opening over 25 years ago, but one thing that has not changed is its hard-working team of loyal volunteers who are guided and inspired by their leader, Bridget. We are confident the investment we are making in the Navan store will attract even more volunteers, customers and donors.”
The newly refurbished shop now features a bright, modern interior with clearly defined sections for women’s, men’s, and children’s clothing, alongside an extensive range of children’s toys, books, homeware, and accessories.
A fresh new look for the store, but the same strong local commitment to reducing textile waste.
