Chalk Talk: St Ciarán’s students bring the drama to music class

Music students at St Ciaran’s Secondary School are taking their creativity outside the classroom as they work on a music video for their music class.

The video brings together two well-known songs, “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” and “Gotta Go Your Own Way” from High School Musical, to tell a story about a relationship and what happens afterwards.

Without spoiling it the video follows a couple whose relationship eventually ends . The story then explores some of what happens after the breakup.

Teachers are also joining in the video making appearances throughout the video and adding to the fun of the project. One particularly noteworthy part features a student taking on the role of Michael Jackson for the music video.

The project has allowed the students to combine music, acting, directing and filmmaking while working together to really give life to their idea. From performing the songs and planning scenes the students have put their own creativity into the project.

With dramatics, comedy, famous songs this is one music project that St Ciaran’s students will definitely want to see when it is finished.
