Chalk Talk: Mercy Completion Officer and Librarian, Antoinette Pentony says farewell

After more than 20 years of dedicated service, we wish our wonderful School Completion Officer and Librarian, Antoinette Pentony, a very happy retirement.

Throughout her time in Mercy, Antoinette has truly embodied the vision and values of Catherine McAuley, showing compassion, kindness and care to generations of students.

For so many students, Antoinette was much more than a familiar face in the library. She was a reason to come to school, a listening ear on difficult days, a source of encouragement and, for those who needed it most, a lifeline. Her warmth, understanding and unwavering belief in every student have made an immeasurable difference to countless young lives.

In recognition of her incredible work with our JCSP students and her dedication to the school library, we are delighted to have named our new library reading corner "Antoinette’s Reading Corner." A fitting tribute to someone who has inspired a love of reading while creating a welcoming space where every student could feel valued, supported and at home.

Antoinette has been a shining lamp in our school community, bringing light to those who needed it most. Her legacy will live on in the students she supported, the confidence she inspired and the kindness she showed every single day.

From all of us at Mercy, thank you, Antoinette, for over two decades of extraordinary care and dedication. You will be greatly missed, but the light you have brought to our school will continue to shine.
