Kells country rap artist making waves

Kells Country rap artist Lucas Jalee is making waves in the Irish rap and hip hop scene, being one of the only country rap artists on the Irish scene right now, writes Holly Alder.

Lucas was recently the first country Irish rap artist to be featured on national radio on RTE 2FM and the first to perform on national television on The Six O’Clock Show for Six Sessions on Virgin Media One after the release of his new single ‘I Love You 3k’ in July.

Lucas played the main stage at Moynalty Steam Threshing Festival this year alongside country star Nathan Carter and Irish band All Folk’d Up, and has also hit Number 1 on the Irish Hiphop Chart on iTunes recently.

The Kells singer-songwriter said: “In the last month or two, I’ve received a lot of love from bigger artists, which I appreciate so much. Musician KYLE who has a song called ‘iSpy’ with Lil Yachty has shown his support and also Lil Skies. Both of them gave me great feedback on my new song.”

Lucas Jalee performs at Dublin Fashion Week in September. His new song ‘I Love You 3K’ is on all streaming platforms now.
