Money laundering case adjourned as arrest warrant issued

A 59 year-old man, Thomas Delaney who is charged with money laundering involving sums of money totalling €435,000 didn’t appear in court.

The defendant was listed as of no fixed abode and was remanded from 26th May to Tuesday’s sitting of Trim District Court for the preparation and service of the book of evidence in the case.

Court Presenter Sergeant Alan Ratcliffe told Judge Derek Cooney the book was ready but the defendant was not present.

Judge Cooney issued a bench warrant for his arrest. The defendant is charged with four counts with sums of €250,00, €150,000, €25,000 and €10,000 cited on the charges, and then offences are alleged to involve credit transfers and involving AIB bank John Street, Kells.

The offences are alleged to have taken place on 18th January, 24th and two on 27th January in 2023.
