Navan fundraiser for Venezuela this weekend

The Rotary Club of Navan are spearheading a fundraising campaign for the victims of the earthquakes in Venezuela.

The club is seeking the support of the people of Navan and County Meath to get behind the Rotary of Ireland Shelter Box appeal for the families of Venezuela who have been devastated by the earthquakes.

By kind permission of the management at Navan Town Centre and Johnstown Shopping Centre, donation points will be manned through Friday, Saturday and Sunday this weekend.

President of the Rotary Club of Navan, Geraldine Honan, wishes to sincerely thank the the people of County Meath and beyond for their generosity and hope that together we will make a difference.

The death toll from the two consecutive earthquakes that struck Venezuela has risen to 3,811 people, according to an announcement by the President of the National Assembly of Venezuela, Jorge Rodríguez.

The latest statistics indicate that the number of people injured as a result of the disaster, which occurred on 24th June, has reached 16,740, while the number of homeless individuals has reached 17,907.
