Plans for a large-scale residential development on a six-hectares site on the Kildalkey Road in Trim have been submitted to Meath County Council.
The plans, if approved, would provide for 183 new homes with a mix of apartments and houses, as well as a childcare facility.
Loughglynn Developments recently lodged a planning application for the development on the site of 6.087 hectares at Crowpark 1st Division, Trim.
The site is bounded to the north by Kildalkey Road, to the east by the Elder Grove residential estate, to the west by agricultural lands, and to the south by lands adjoining the River Boyne.
The plans provide for 127 houses and 56 apartments, along with a creche to cater for 60 children.
The houses include 19 detached four-bed houses, nine semi-detached/end-terrace four-bed houses, four detaches three-bed houses, 43 semi-detached/end-terrace three-bed houses and 52 mid-terrace three-b3d houses.
All residential units would be provided with private amenity space in the form of balconies or gardens andhe development also includes public and communal open spaces.
The 56 apartments include 16 one-bed and 40 two-bed units in two apartment blocks of up to four-storeys in height. The proposed creche is a two-storey stand-alone building of 394 sqm, with associated open space, car parking and a dedicated set-down area.
Access is proposed via a new single vehicular access road from Kildalkey Road as well as additional pedestrian access points. Provision has been made for potential future pedestrian and cyclist-only connections via the residential estate to the east.
A total of 348 car parking spaces and 147 cycle parking spaces are provided.
The development also includes the provision of a pumped foul sewer connection to the existing foul sewer located on Jonathan Swift Street. The works involve installation by Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) of a rising main beneath the River Boyne.
