Judge recommends woman be seen urgently by services

Judge Eirinn McKiernan recommended as a matter of urgency that a 38-year-old woman be referred to the addiction, psychological and psychiatric services.

The Judge handed out a four month jail term to Ciara McCormack of Seaview, Laytown at Trim District Court on Tuesday.

The defendant was before the court on assault charges which involved attempting to headbutt a Garda, and on public order matters.

She was described by her solicitor as not able to help herself, and had lived most of her adult life crime free. The defendant spent time in custody.

Evidence was heard previously at the court that the defendant attempted to headbutt a Garda when being conveyed to a Garda Station.

Judge McKiernan was also told of an incident where a bus driver flagged down Garda where the defendant was intoxicated on a bus.
