Holocaust survivor Tomi Reichental has died aged 90.
Mr Reichental was born in Czechoslovakia in 1935, the year of the anti-Jewish Nuremberg Laws.
He and his family were deported to the German concentration camp Bergen-Belsen in 1944.
He lost 35 close family members in the Holocaust, before coming to Ireland in 1959.
Mr Reichental spent a lot of his life educating younger generations about the horrors of the Holocaust. He did talks at schools throughout Ireland.
In 2011, he published his autobiography 'I Was a Boy in Belsen'.
In a statement, Taoiseach Micheál Martin says he is deeply saddened to learn of Mr Reichental's passing, describing him as someone who "dedicated his life to teaching new generations about the evil of The Holocaust".
Mr Martin said Mr Reichental "leaves behind a lasting legacy of dignity, courage and enlightenment of others about the dangers of hatred and antisemitism".
