An Irish couple is facing the loss of €26,000 after a wedding planner in the Canary Islands closed her business amid claims of insolvency.
Sorcha McManigan and Alan Kent were due to marry in Tenerife in September, after planning their wedding for nearly two years.
The Dublin couple had taken multiple trips to meet the planner of 'Weddings in Tenerife', but have now found out none of the vendors, including the hotel, have been paid.
Sorcha said they had paid over two thirds of the final bill for the wedding.
All of our family and friends have booked flights, accommodation...
She told Newstalk: "They're filing for insolvency and it leaves us in limbo because they haven't filed yet. We're just in this middle part of trying to figure out what does it mean?
"Will we get a cent of it back? All of our family and friends have booked flights, accommodation, and it is a big ask to ask someone to come over for a destination wedding."
